Wellous is proud to announce that our Biomedical Advisor, Prof. Kim Kah Hwi, has received prestigious international awards for his groundbreaking research on leukemia.
At the International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation & Technology Exposition (IPiTEx 2026) held in Bangkok (5–9 January 2026), Prof. Kim was awarded:
- Best International Innovation Award by the British Invention Association (UK)
- Silver Award by IPiTEx 2026
These awards recognize the patent Leea Indica – A Miracle Medicinal Herb for Leukemia, a testament to Wellous’ commitment to science-backed innovation and impactful healthcare solutions.
The research focuses on the natural medicinal herb Leea Indica, traditionally used in herbal medicine. Studies at the University of Malaya indicate that it may have properties to combat leukemia, a type of blood cancer. This intellectual property aims to protect the discovery and facilitate the development of safe, natural treatments for adult leukemia patients.
IPiTEx is one of Asia’s largest innovation and IP exhibitions, attracting inventors, researchers, universities, and industry leaders worldwide. This achievement underscores Wellous’ dedication to advancing medical research and strengthening our global innovation footprint.
